The history of Nardone Baker Wines stems
back two generations to Joe Nardone and John Baker.
Their roots originating from Europe and
then establishing landholding in South Australia.
Joe Nardone was raised in Italy, where he
developed a love of the land, its grapes and the process of
creating fine wine. In 1952 Joe brought his traditional wine making
skills to Australia where he set about making full-bodied red wines
from grapes grown in South Australia's ideal climates and soil
types.
John Baker was raised in country England
and he too had a passion for producing fine wine. This led him to
purchase land in South Australia in the same year that he landed
and to further his knowledge of wine at Roseworthy Agricultural
College.
Joe and John have since come together
through the marriage of their children.
The second generation, Frank Nardone and
Patrick Baker, now brothers in law, continue the winemaking
tradition of their families.
